The Importance of Communicating as a Professional

It is important to use good grammar because it looks better and it shows how much effort is put into ones work. Some people may not think it is important but in actuality a lot of bosses look at these things. Grammar will always be important throughout our lives so why not fix it early on Because you never know who will see your work.

Having incorrect Grammar can be the reason someone cannot get hired in a professional workplace. Someone’s work can reflect on the type of person they are and how others look at them. It is important to review and analyze ones work in order to project one's effort throughout their professional workforce. According to Susan, she believed that grammar is important because it shows one's level of intelligence, thoughtfulness, and organization throughout their work. If someone make a grammar mistake it makes others look uneducated.Weins says  "your words are all you have."He feels that if a person  cannot write correctly, then they are more than likely to mess up on things that aren’t related to writing. There are many ways to fix grammar errors and correct the things that are wrong before sending something off.  He makes everyone take a grammar test before he hires people.  Simple grammar errors that are not fixed before turned in and it look as if the person  doesn't care about thier  work. If someone were hired into a workplace and they had grammar errors on a resume they look at it as they wouldn’t care about how they perform in the workplace. Someones work shows the type of person they  are and how someone carries them self without being Present. People will base someones work off of how thry perform in their establishment. Most Careers requires us  to read, write, and listen so therefore we have to make sure our work is correct before turning in or showing it to someone else.

Registered Nurses need to have great communication skills while in this field. It is important to be a good listener to understand what the patient needs and how to take good care of the patient. I will need to be able to speak clearly and able to hear what the patient or doctors will need from me. I will need to write thing such as patient temperatures, progress, graphs, and things the doctor needs to know. Doctors, patients and other nurses will be reading the things I write, so I need to be sure to take my time to write clearly. I wouldn’t want them to treat the patient or diagnose the patient with the wrong thing just because I didn’t spell words correctly. There are many things that you will need while doing your job but as long as you take your time, and listen to the patient you will be able to take good care of them.

While still attending college I can fix all of my mistakes now verses me getting  closer to my major. First will try to be more confident  in my work. I have to know what I am doing and use all of my resources that will be given. Second I will  look over my papers  and make sure all of my mistakes are taken care of. Before I start I should always be clear of my directions before I start anything of my work. I shouldn't be ashamed to ask for hep when struggling with something and know that its ok to ask for assistance. Susan Adams states in her  blog "When you speak, you project your level of intelligence and thoughtfulness. You also demonstrate how organized you are, in your thoughts and in your intentions." When having to present things before someone I should try to be sure of what I am saying and always be prepared to speak to someone or present something to people and make sure it is the best. Even after college I can do these things while working as  nurse becaue I will be giving out information not only to my patient but also my co workers as well.

Nurses have to do a variety of things including using different instruments. I need to be clear of what I need to use and how to use it. I will be taking care of  people and they are putting their life in my hands, so having good grammar and communication skills will be very important for me while being a nurse. I always have to listen no matter who it is because important information that will be needed for care whether it is coming from the patient, doctor, or other nurses. I need to always check after my writing and speak very clear.. It is also important that I write clearly because I will not be the only person that will be reading my papers and notes. I should always be mindful that my work prepresents me and how capable I am to be able to present things to others as well as writing  something for a co-worker.
